It is hierarchical in nature, beginning with the subject or topic at the top or side of the page and then branching into sub-topics and details. This concept maps can be use to record ideas during reading, see the relationships among ideas and distinguish between main ideas and supporting details. The students can remember important details from the text and organize information in a memorable and accessible way to help with studying. Besides that, concept maps help students brainstorm and generate new ideas, encouraging students to discover new concepts. Furthermore, concept maps enable students to gain enhanced knowledge of any topic and evaluate the information, allowing students to more clearly communicate ideas, thoughts and information. Concept maps can be build by simply follow these three steps. First, start with a main idea, topic or issue to focus on. Then, determine the key concepts that connect and relate to the main idea. Lastly, finish it by connecting concepts by creating linking phrases and words. In conclusion, this concept map is a powerful way for students to reach high levels of cognitive performance. A concept map is not just a learning tool, but an ideal evaluation tool for educators measuring the growth of and accessing student learning.
