Modals Verb

Modal auxiliaries are verbs used before other verbs to express concepts such as permission, possibility, ability, necessity, certainty, and obligation. Examples of modal auxiliaries include will, would, shall, should, may, might, can, could, must, ought, and need. Modal auxiliaries do not change form for tense or person and must be followed by the base form of the main verb. They can be divided into single concept modals that have one meaning and double concept modals that have two meanings depending on context. Single concept modals include will, might, should, and ought to while double concept modals include may, must, would, shall, could, and can.

WHAT ARE MODAL AUXILIARIES?


Modal auxiliaries are verbs that are used before ordinary verbs to express different meaning such as permission, possibility, ability, necessity, certainty, obligation, etc. Example of modal auxiliaries are will, would, shall, should, may, might, can, could, must, ought, need.

HOW DO WE USE MODAL AUXILIARIES?
