Voice Over Script Social Networking is a major part of todays society and interlines itself with peoples everyday

lives. With over 90% of 18-24 year olds using social media regularly it is clear that it is one of the main sources of communication. (10 seconds) (Julies Interview) 3 seconds Social Networking websites, like Facebook or Twitter are becoming more and more popular with all age groups. This could be as a result to how it can be easily accessed anywhere, by using a computer or an app on a smartphone. These sites raise some potential problems, especially when taking into consideration the worries of cyberbullying. (16 seconds) (Girls Interview) 3 seconds The top 5 social networking sites are; Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus and Pinterest. The majority of these are used by younger people therefore raising some concerns for adults, such as parents and teachers. (14 seconds) (Julies Interview) 19 seconds Cyberbullying is becoming more of a problem within todays society. With nearly 43% of children experiencing bullying online and over 80% of teenagers regularly using a mobile phone, it is easier than ever for victims to be harassed by others through this medium. (12 seconds) (Girls Interview) 4 seconds More than 1 in 3 young people have received cyber threats online which can have a harmful impact on peoples self-esteem, and there have even been cases of it leading to suicides. However, there are some positive aspects when looking at social networking. We spoke to Julie Maitland, an academic coach, to get her personal view on social networking. (17 seconds) (Julies Interview) Research has shown that a lot more older people are accessing social media and networks but the majority of users are aged 16 24. Also approximately 25% of Facebook Users do not bother with their privacy settings despite knowing the risks of having a vast amount of personal information posted online.
