Choose an interesting theme that means something to you!

Choose an interesting handle design that enhances the colors and the sculpture

The point of view should be looking up at you!

Make these beautiful, clever, interesting and (of course) colorful and well designed!

Slab the clay Measure and cut Bevel & round all the edges

Overlap the edges. Bevel, score and slip. Smooth the seam.

Set the wall of the mug on a slab of clay. Trace around the mug and cut the base. Score, slip and add an interior coil. Smooth and bevel edge.

SMOOTH and SHAPE


Make the rim of the mug thin, tapered, and lip-friendly.

Score and slip. Add coils to attached area

and smooth

The sculpture should be pointed up toward the viewer.

o Create a tiny sculpture for the inside of mug


o Mug and the sculpture will be glazed with underglaze o Fire to bisque separately o Clear glaze the mug o Clear glaze SCULPTURE o Stand sculpture on the glazed bottom of mug

o Fire sculpture and mug together


o Glaze will fuse the mug and sculpture together

Mug Sculpture Base coat of color and details on top

Outside design must co-ordinate with the little sculpture on the inside.

Overglaze the final bisque forms to create a waterproof mug Dont forget your sculpture and mug will be fused together in the final firing, so place your sculpture pointing UP!
