A Goomba-Gurumi Pattern: Amigurumi Patterns - Videogames

This pattern provides instructions to crochet an amigurumi Goomba toy from the Mario video game series. The Goomba is made in rounds without joining, using cotton yarn and a small hook. The body is crocheted in sections - the head starts with a magic ring and increases, the stump body is made separately, and the feet are made as matching pairs. After assembling the pieces, the toy is stuffed with catnip and intended to be played with by cats, replicating the fate of Goombas in the games.

A Goomba-gurumi Pattern

Posted 12/27/2009 Amigurumi Patterns - Videogames This pattern is a Nerdigurumi original, free for non-commercial use. The Goomba character belongs to Nintendo (obviously) and I make no claim to its awesomeness, although I did convert its image to the marvelous crochet goodness you see before you. This particular fellow is stuffed with catnip and will likely suffer the same fate as the real Goombas did, although at the hands of a hepped up kitty cat, versus a hepped up Italian plumber.

Looking Menacing

Amigurumi Goomba

Goomba is crocheted in the round, through both loops (except for the invisible decreases) without joining. This little guy was made with medium worsted weight cotton yarn (Bernat Handicrafter and Lily Sugar & Cream), however any yarn (worsted weight preferably) will do. I used a 3.75 mm hook for looser work since its a catnip toy, but 3.5mm is probably ideal. Yarn Colours Used
