Adapted Playscript

The horse sees the dog receiving affection from their shared master, and feels jealous and unloved in comparison. The dog suggests the horse try acting in the same affectionate ways like wagging its tail and jumping on the master's knee. When the horse tries this, it accidentally breaks a jar and frightens the master. The villagers come to the master's aid and beat the horse, driving it away. The horse sadly realizes it was unfairly punished and just wanted love like the dog receives.

Title: The Dog And The Horse Characters: Narrator Horse Dog Master Villagers Setting: A countryside somewhere

in Sabah Narrator : Once upon a time, there was a man who had a little dog and a horse. One day, the horse peeked through the windows. He saw his master played and gave food to the dog.

[Horse enters the stage]


Horse :

[sad] Why doesnt he love me? [Dog enters the stage arrogantly]

Dog Horse Dog Horse Dog Horse Dog

: : : : : : :

Hey, horse! How are you? Hi, dog. Im very sad. Why are you so sad? Because the master only plays with you. Do you want to play with the master too? Yes! Yes! But, how? All I need to do is wag my tail, bark, and jump on the masters knee.

Horse

Oh, I know. I should try that too!

[Horse and Dog exit the stage]


Narrator : The next day, the horse decided to ran into his masters house.

[Horse enters the stage, running.]


Master Horse : :

[shocked] Argghhhh!
Neighhhh!

[Horse neighs as loudly as it could, wag its tail so hard that it knocked over a jar on the table. Then, it tries to jump on its masters knee.]
Master Narrator : : Help me! Help me! Help! The villagers heard the masters cry and rush to help him.

[Villagers enter with sticks]


Villagers Master Villagers Narrator : : : : What happened?!

[point to the horse] The horse is mad.


Dont worry. We will help you. The villagers beat the horse till it ran out of the house and drove it back to the field.

[Villagers and Horse exit] [Horse enters]


Horse Narrator : :

[crying] It is not fair. I just want to be loved.


With sad face, the horse went to his stable. Deep inside his heart, he will always love his master.
