My Name is Enaya Nuru. I am 11 years old and in grade . I live with my mother and !our o! my !ive si"lings in #ddis #"a"a$ the capital. My !ather lives in %audi #ra"ia. 6:40 A.M. I wake up$ wash my !ace$ "rush my teeth and put on my school uni!orm and head scar!. &hen I say my morning prayer. I am Muslim. 7:00 A.M. I eat "reak!ast with my !amily. We have "read and chilies with our porridge$ which is made o! "arley and wheat. #!ter that$ I walk to the "us stop with my 'year'old twin "rothers. &he ride to school takes () minutes. 8:20 A.M. *e!ore class$ we gather on the playground to e+ercise$ sing the national anthem and pray. 8:30 A.M. My !irst class is science. We are studying gala+ies$ stars and the solar system. English class is at ,-(). We go over voca"ulary words. In small groups$ we discuss the word harmony. 11:00 A.M. .ur !irst "reak comes a!ter physical education. &hen its o!! to social studies and math$ my !avorite su"/ect. 1:00 P.M. 0unchtime1 I eat the in/era that my mother made. In/era is a !lat"read that has a so!t$ spongy te+ture. It is usually eaten with sauce or meat. 2:30 P.M. &he last su"/ect o! the day is computers. We complete a Word document e+ercise. %chool ends at (-(). I take the "us home. 4:00 P.M. I change$ wash my !ace and give my mother a "ig kiss and hug. &hen my !amily sits down to eat dinner. Now it9s time !or either arts and cra!ts or 4rench lessons. 4rench is di!!icult$ "ut I like drawing houses$ animals or people. I like to use lots o! colors 12:45 P.M. &he school provides our lunch. =sually it9s rice$ ugali >cornmeal porridge? and chapati >!ried dough? or potato chips. 1:30 P.M. 4or lunch$ my teacher serves me a "ig "owl o! mi+ed "eans and corn. %ome kids go home a!ter lunch. *ut I$ and others$ pay e+tra to stay at school until (-1).
