Food Safety and Emergency Power Failure

During a power outage, it is important to keep cold and frozen foods cold by moving them to the freezer or insulating them with blankets. Foods should be eaten within 4 hours if they are no longer cold to the touch or refrozen if power is restored and foods are still cold. Hot foods should be eaten within 2 hours of becoming room temperature or thrown away.
