s2 Week 8 Tasksheet

This document outlines the schedule and assignments for Week 8. It includes three learning outcomes: 1) Transcription of DNA into RNA, including the enzymes involved and differences between DNA and RNA. 2) Translation of RNA into proteins at the ribosome, including defining codons, anti-codons, and start/stop codons. 3) Mandatory assignments include watching three DNA replication animations and completing a worksheet. Other assignments involve reading chapters in textbooks and interactive notebooks, taking notes from biology videos, and enrichment activities. The schedule provides to-do and completion sections for each day of the week.

Week 8

Dates:

2/24

2/28

Name:

Per:____

Outcome 1: Transcription- DNA is Transcribed into RNA, Which is a single stranded molecule that uses
ribose as its sugar and Thymine is replaces with Uracil. What Enzymes are used in transcription.
How are DNA and RNA similar? How are they Different? What is RNA used for? What are the different
types of RNA?
Outcome 2.- RNA is translated in protein at a ribosome. The Ribosome reads the RNA codon and adds
the corresponding amino acid to the polypeptide chain. What is a codon? What is an Anti-codon? How
can we decode the mRNA? What is a Start and Stop Codon?
