I. Be ready with all materials and homework/bell ringers. Class will start promptly.
II. Students will not be allowed to leave the classroom during class time, unless it is an emergency. III. Remember that the teacher dismisses the class NOT THE BELL. STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO STAND BY THE DOOR. IV. Per school policy, NO FOOD, DRINK OR GUM will be allowed in class. V. Be responsible. a. If you are absent or miss a class for any reason, ask for the missing assignments or information. Make up work is your responsibility, not the teachers. Remember to contact your shoulder partners for any updates. b. You will have two class meetings from the day you return from an excused absence to make up any missed work. After that, a 0 will be given. NOTE: If an assignment is issued on the day that you are in class, yet due on the day you are out, it becomes due the first day you return. NO LATE OR UNEXCUSED ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. VI. Grades. Grades in your class will be determined in the following manner: a. Written quizzes, chapter tests, written projects (portfolios Sp. III & IV) b. Oral presentations, *class participation, oral quizzes, video or cd activities, dictations. c. Class work/homework *If student turns in all homework on time, five points will be added to the lowest quiz/test grade per nine weeks. d. Binder checked every nine weeks *Class participation: All students are expected to participate orally. The following are the points necessary for the first nine weeks. Tiger Block 15 additional points are required as we meet every day. VII. Exams. a. Both a midterm and a final exam will be given. Exams are cumulative. b. Exemptions will be determined each year by the Administration. Students will be notified accordingly. VIII. Materials. a. A 1 three ring binder with four dividers plus one pocket divider and plenty of notebook paper. b. One small pack of sticky notes. c. Three different color highlighters. d. Pencil, a blue or black pen and a different color pen for making corrections. IX. Students will be expected to put all trash in the trash can and to take care of all school property in the classroom. X. The use of an online translator or any other outside help is strictly prohibited for the completion of any assignment for your class. Only students own work will be accepted for credit. If you have questions, please ask! Your teacher will be glad to help you. XI. CELL PHONES. Cell phones should not be on or in use during class time. The only exception is when the teacher approves their use for educational purposes during instructional time. Otherwise, cell phones will be confiscated and student will be subject to a disciplinary referral.
