Condition:: MODELS: MUSSO & KORANDO With Diesel Engine

This service bulletin addresses engine surging issues occurring in some Musso and Korando diesel models when cold. The correction is to replace the valve-thermo, which controls vacuum unit operation, with an improved part. The previous thermo only operated below 30 degrees Celsius, but the new thermo operates below -10 degrees, addressing the cold start surging. Technicians are instructed to replace just the thermo and not the injection pump when vehicles exhibit this issue.

SUBJECT : T/Shooting for Engine surging when the engine is cold.

MODELS : MUSSO & KORANDO with diesel engine

CONDITION:
The engine of some vehicles are surging when the engine is start in the winter morning. It appears only when engine is cold.

CORRECTION :
To solve this problem, SYMC improved the Valve-thermo that the operating condition is changed. If the complaint vehicle comes to your workshop, replace the valve-thermo with improved one.

WORK PROCEDURE :
Replace the valve-thermo with improved one.
To PLA vacuum unit To Vacuum pump

Replace Black color Thermo valve

Green color

Cause
When the vehicle which has the above phenomenon comes to your workshop, first check and replace the valve-thermo. Do not replace the injection pump.
