Ten Partners

This document provides instructions for a card game called "Ten Partners" where the objective is to make pairs of cards that add up to ten. Players are dealt 7 cards each and can initially lay down any pairs they have, like 6 and 4, while saying the corresponding rhyme. Players then take turns asking each other for a card to complete a pair totaling ten, or drawing from the remaining cards if the other player does not have the requested card. The first player to play all their cards by making ten pairs wins.

TEN PARTNERS DIRECTIONS

NEED: 2+ players, 1 deck of cards

Ace=1 Jack, Queen, King=10
OBJECTIVE: Make partners of ten – be the first player with no
cards left.
DIRECTIONS:
• Deal 7 cards per player
• Remainder of cards are spread out in the middle
• Before play begins each player removes any Ten Partners
form their hand. (If they have a 6 and a 4 they can lay it
down in their pile). To make a Ten Partner the player must
also say the rhyme that goes with the partner. (6 and 4 shut
the door, 6 and 4 are Ten Partners.) Any face cards can also
be laid down at this time (10+0=10).
• Player 1 looks at the remaining cards in his/her hand and
decides which card they want to ask for the Partner of. (EX:
If you have a 7 in your hand you would ask the other player
for a 3 to make 7+3=10). If the other player has that card
they hand it over. If not Player 1 would have to draw one card
to see if they can make a Ten Partner.
• When a player lays down a Ten Partner they must say the
rhyme that goes with the Ten Partner they laid down.
• Continue procedure with all players.
• First player with no cards left wins!
• (This basically is Go Fish! with Ten Partners)
