PED EMAILS-Legislative Requests

The documents discuss a policy for the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMED) regarding legislative requests. Staff are instructed to refer all inquiries from the Legislative Finance Committee and Legislative Education Study Committee to their supervisor, who will then send the requests to the Governor's office for approval before responding. Any staff who directly respond without approval are subject to disciplinary action. Clarification is provided that this policy applies to all types of requests, whether by phone, email, in person or in writing.

Have a wonderful Friday! -Charles "It is in fact a part of the function of education to help us escape, not from our own time - for we are bound by that - but from the intellectual and emotional limitations of our time." -T.S. Kimberly is out of the office today, so if you have any questions or receive any requests from the LFC or the LESC, please let me know. Please remember, the policy in place for legislative requests is as follows: All requests from the LFC and LESC (staff and legislators) must go through the Governors office. If you receive a request directly from a staff member or a legislator, you must forward the request to Kimberly Ulibarri immediately. She will then respond to the requester as stated in the attached email. Please do not contact the Governors office. To Clarify: Any requests by telephone, in person, by email or in writing from the LESC or the LFC, need to be forwarded to Kimberly. Since she is not here today, I will be handling the requests. If the request was made in person (conversation at a meeting) please inform the requester of the policy and alert Kimberly so she may follow up with requester and the Governors office. I appreciate everyones cooperation. Annjenette M. Torres Director, Constituent Services & Strategic Initiatives Public Education Department 795-3035 827-6571
