How Can a Student be Successful in this Course?

1. Regular attendance is very important for success in Foundations of Math 11. It is expected that students will attend all classes. If a student is absent for any reason, it is the students responsibility to obtain missed notes and satisfactorily complete any missed assignments. Daily assignments can be obtained from the website (http://nwrbaskic.weebly.com). 2. Complete all assignments. Students who are frequently absent or late and do not do the required homework will likely fail tests or quizzes. This may result in the student failing the course. 3. It is the parents/guardians responsibility to report all absences to the KSS office. Office staff record absences on the BCeSIS attendance system, which allows teaching staff to accurately monitor absences. Absences not reported through the office will be regarded as truancy and a mark of zero will be entered for the missed work. 4. Notebooks are to be kept in a neat and comprehensive fashion. 5. It is expected that students will arrive to class on time. Tardiness of more than 10 minutes is considered the same as an absence. 6. Behaviour in the classroom must reflect a serious and responsible attitude where the student strives to reach their potential. 7. Cell phones, ipods and related electronic equipment, along with food and drinks, must not be visible during class time. Supplies Needed 1. 3 ring binder and paper 2. Red, blue and green pens 3. Sharp pencils 4. Erasers 5. 6. 7. 8. Scientific calculator Graph paper and ruler
