What do you think are the qualities that make someone an adult? At what age do you think people reach adulthood, and is it the same as in years past or have times changed? Do you consider yourself an adult, still a child, or somewhere in between? Why?

Adulthood is legally labeled onto persons at the age of ! by "nited #tates standards$ in other countries, one is legally an adult by the age of % Despite this black&and&white line between adolescence and adulthood, we often consider one an adult, through personal reflection and e'perience, on an individual basis by that person(s mental and social maturity) #ocial and mental maturity may include qualities such as being able to handle one(s self with others independently, treat others with minimal ego& centricism, and handle responsibility) *sychology defines, or rather shapes, our perceptions on adulthood as well as, through +rik +rikson(s theory of social development, as when adolescents e'perience ,Identity vs) -ole .onfusion,/ which adolescents confront between puberty and late teens) 0owever, as we are individuals, the stages that define us as adolescents or young adults are in gray areas, meaning we are currently between those stages) I, with my own reflection and taking into account the psychological shaping of the adult identity, consider myself to be in between the two stages as I can handle myself in social situations responsibly and independently, but still remain dependent, to visible e'tent 1financially and mentally2 to my own parents, and not being able to handle some greater forms of responsibility)
