Kindergarten Connections

March 21, 2014 Mrs. Kugler Vol. 18 No. 28

Remember, ! day of SCHOOL MONDAY! Kindergarten will dismiss at 12:05. Buses will leave at 12:20. Our school is hosting the sub-section Speech Contest Monday afternoon and evening. Friday is a FULL DAY of school. It was originally a ! day, but we are making up the day we dismissed early in November due to the power outage. PHONE NUMBERS! Help! We need your help at home to practice reciting our phone numbers. If I have made an error when I typed phone numbers on the rainbow writing sheet we practice from, please let me know. Cereal boxes as you empty cereal boxes at home, please send the empty box to school. We are collecting them for a project. I bet you have noticed how MUDDY our snowpants and boots have been. KEEP SENDING THEM! Without them, our pants and shoes would look like that for the whole afternoon! We have learned our last short vowel sound -/u/ - and will be focusing on blending 3 letter words in Reading. In Math, we will continue to practice combining sets (simple addition) and also work more with money. Science will focus on living things and be integrated with our Reading content. Handwriting practice isnt moving quite as quickly. We are working hard when we write, but it is hard to remember to start at the top!

Song of the Week:

Apples and Bananas

Poem of the Week:

Growth A little garden seed Is lying in its bed. A warm spring sun Is shining overhead. Down came the raindrops Dancing to and fro -The little seed awakens And starts to grow.!
