Action Point Look around the location.

Comments The hallway appears to be suitable for my shoot as the walls are plain.

Talk to people there, organise filming permissions.

Friends mum and dad were pleased to have us round.

Identify the equipment you need to use.

Examine and identify any potential health and safety issues (e.g. crowd numbers being controlled, being set up in a sensible location that does not block access points or that damages the environment or frightens livestock, any road/traffic issues etc) Check the position of the sun and lighting conditions.

The location does not cause any health and safety issues as it is in a house and doesnt block any access points and there is not any heavy industrial machinery that could cause any health and safety issues.

The sun wasnt visible in the part of the house we used. I used the flash on the camera and had the main hallway light on.

Look for interesting shots and camera angles.

I tried various high and low angle shots as well as close ups and mid-shots. I was able to use leading lines and the rule of thirds.

Check the electricity supply. (For the majority of exterior locations you will be using battery power)

The mains in the house worked correctly and the camera was fully charged before use.

Check the nearby car parking/transport routes

No car park was needed. The bus route stopped very close to the location of the shoot.

Is the location suitable for production?

Yes the location is suitable. The walls were plain and the light was good, there was also enough room to take photos from many angles and distances.
