Issue 11 APRIL 2014

Newsletter
Page 1 of 5 Happy April.. As I am typing this I can hear possums climbing on the roof, what I think are Bogong moths flapping about and the rain pitter pattering down. How great to get the rain before winter to get that feed in our paddocks powering along. I bet all of our horses are starting to expand already, and it will be time to bring out the rugs at least for the night times.. Lou has been working on the rallies in her usual competent way. The next big th th day fast approaching is the annual GALA DAY scheduled for the 26 and 27 April. As usual to make the day run smoothly and for the opportunity for members to join in the day and ride can I ask that you look at the job list please and do your best to be available for your time slot. If you need to rearrange your time, can you please be responsible to find your replacement and swap with that person. If you let Renee know then she can change it on the schedule so everyone knows who will be stepping into their place when their turn is over. Of course if you can help out longer than your rostered time please do so. Bring a friend along to help and enjoy the day as well if you like. The more the merrier. The roster is posted on our Facebook page and I will also post it on the end of this newsletter. Please confirm with Joy that you are available to do your shift. This is a day when our club has the opportunity to make a bit of income for the numerous things that we like to purchase for the club, and general revenue for the likes of saving up to build another shed. Speaking of sheds does anyone have any contacts with regards to obtaining and installing a new shed for all of our gear. Sunday 10 May down at Pioneer Park. - Le Trec and Fun Day A fun day for everyone. Not a competition but lots of opportunities to challenge you and your horse with a few obstacles a maybe the odd egg and spoon type of thing. Wal can you please bring your giant horse ball down? There will be several things set up. Some horses will find things challenging while other horses will take them in their stride. For instance I took my horse over a see saw recently. She went really well to my surprise, but then I had to really persuade her to step over a little puddle. It all depends on the day and your horse and your vibes. Sunday 11 and Monday 12 May - Paul Owens the vet/dentist will be back for those that have booked their horses in Renee can schedule later appointment times so you can ride first once they have their teeth done its best to leave them for a day or so before riding again.

Sunday 25 May will be flat lessons with Leisha Salter and jumping lessons with Tracey Savage. Lou is arranging that, so please let Lou know if you would like to have a lesson with either or both so she can draw up times. Please also let her know your level so she knows who to put you with. Flat lessons - A private lesson will be $40 for 45 minutes. Group lesson with up to four people will be $30 I think. This will need to be confirmed with Lou. [email protected] 0413 169190 That is what is on our calendar at the moment. Please do not hesitate to suggest or put your hand up to organise a rally day. All ideas welcome. Thinking perhaps, towards the later part of the year that we have a ride out from Bright to Harrietville and sleep at the pub or somewhere similar. Have a get together around the fire or something. Non riding partners could join in later in the evening if they wanted to. Massages would be welcome I am sure. Please indicate if you are interested in joining in on this if it was organised for a suitable date. I understand the recent trail ride out to Freeburgh left some slightly sore botties, but a great ride was had. Well done to Shane for cooking up a storm. Any photos of that?. Post them on our Facebook page please if you have any. The clubs recent Protocol day with Leisha went really well as did the show jumping lessons with Tracey. Both ladies are proving to be great instructors with lots of our members singing their praises. A really enjoyable day with lots of learning for a reasonable cost. ***************************************************************************
