This is a letter in response to the job posting on the UNT website of the maintenance/service page. Will you please consider me for the position of Food Service Worker II? I possess basic knowledge of how to prepare food and health hazards and all other knowledge needed per the requirements for this position. Although I have very little work experience, I have worked in a cafeteria and served food at a homeless shelter on the outskirts of Dallas, TX. I learned the effects of not having proper equipment and the importance of keeping a clean workplace for health concerns not only for myself, but others as well. Also, interactions with people that could potentially be dangerous has come to open me up to more people and become friendly to everyone and increase my social skills. Which could in return, may make another persons day by having a friendly person wish them well. In the job description, the requirements also include basic knowledge of money and more importantly, how to make change. At the University of North Texas, I have taken math for business and economics along with accounting I. These classes require much more than basic math skills which I must have for my desired accounting degree. My resume provides more information about my education, volunteer work, and accomplishments.
