Inquiry
Is about giving students experience using the scientific method.
Identify the inquiry question or problem and specify your learning objectives: identify an appropriate question for investigation that involves a changeable variable. Plan for data gathering.prepare to provide a considerable amount of guidance.
Identify question: Teacher or students identify a question that the students will attempt to answer. This step attracts the students attention and draws them into the lesson Generate hypotheses: Students generate hypotheses that attempt to answer the question. This step provides a focus for the lesson Gather & display data: Students gather data related to the hypothesis and organize and display it to be analyzed. This step provides students with experiences in testing hypotheses with evidence Assess hypotheses & generalize: The teacher guides a discussion of the results and the extent to which they support the hypotheses, and students generalize results based on the assessment of the hypotheses. This promotes a transfer to new situation, develops conclusing making abilities, and provides experience with the scientific method/
Students are motivated in this model by evoking curiosity and the problem solving process.
Inquiry can be modified to be effective in avarity of content areas by adapting the way data is gathered.
In the inquiry models students acquire knowledge while practicing using to scientific method to solve problems
