During jousting they would use a lance and a shield. They would ride on a horse towards the opponent. Jousters would also wear a coat of armor. The coat of armor usually weighed about 80 pounds!

The lances were based on a spear, but yet adapted for mounted combat. The ones used in jousting were very di!erent from ones used in battle. The ones for jousting were wooden, and had a blunt point. Sometimes they made them hallow, so that they would easily break on impact.
The point of the game was to charge at the other person at high speeds aiming for their chest. The outcome was suppose to be brutal. Either they would knock their opponent from their horse , or they would break their lance on them.
usually would win money, encouraging people to joust. however, did have its big disadvantages. Lots of jousters either were injured or died!

they had come up with jousting they had people ght in chaotic mock war. they stopped having jousting because of other sports on horse back.
