1. The importance of this lesson: (Why)
Now that you are in the Army, you will be living in close quarters with several other
Soldiers. Personal hygiene is extremely important in prevention of diseases and illness.
Also uncleanness or offending odors affect the morale of your fellow Soldiers.
Therefore, a daily routine of personal hygiene is imperative.
2. What we want our Soldiers to Achieve: (Outcomes/Standard)
Answer 28 of the 40 written questions correctly to demonstrate your knowledge of
Combat Lifesaver skills.

6. A possible technique to achieve the outcome:
Attempt to use gaps in the training schedule to reinforce the practical exercises
Practical exercises should be done at squad level (avoid platoon classes so Soldiers
have more direct contact with instructors).
Have Soldiers examine IFAK the evening prior so they can identify all items within their
IFAK immediately
Quiz at the end of the training day to measure attainability of lesson
7. Conduct AAR with Soldiers and Cadre. This is required after every event. Focus
on specific task and skills displayed during training event and also during concurrent
training.
Note: Before presenting this lesson, Instructors must be thoroughly prepared by
studying the appropriate lesson plan and identified reference material.
