Student: Student

Score:
Student Strengths and Weaknesses:
1 7 - The student did well on the assessment. The students strengths are in
counting money, determining equivalent decimals, and ordering
decimals. The students weaknesses are in determining place value of a
given number (behind the decimal point), determining the amount
represented by a shaded region of a hundreds block flat, and
adding/subtracting decimals.
2 2 - The student had difficulty with this assessment. The student showed
little to no understanding of money and writing monetary values. The
student also struggled with correctly identifying equivalent decimals by
adding a 0 at the end. I.e. 3.2=3.20. The student also struggled in
identifying the value of the amount shaded of the hundreds block flat.
The student also showed difficulty in subtracting by failing to like the
decimal up and lining up place values. However, the student
understood how to order decimals from greatest to least.
3 6 - This student did okay on the assessment. The student answered all the
questions about money correctly, showing an understanding of the
third grade SOL. The student was also able to order a set of decimals
from greatest to least. The student needs improvement in decimal place
values and writing decimals in standard form and vice versa. The
student also needs more practice with adding/subtracting decimals.
4 5 - The student performed in the middle range on the assessment. The
student did okay in counting money, but he/she could use a little bit of
practice counting coins. The student also did well ordering a set of
decimals from greatest to least. The student shows little understanding
of adding and subtracting decimals. Lastly, the student needs
improvement in determining the amount of the shaded region of a
hundreds block flat.
5 6 - This student showed an average understanding of decimals and money.
The student properly identified the amount the shaded region
represented on a hundreds block flat. The student also properly
ordered a set of decimals from greatest to least. The student needs
improvement in counting a set of bills and coins in order to determine
the amount of money being shown. The student also needs practice
adding/subtracting decimals.
6 4 - The student missed questions about representing monetary values
based on a given set of coins. The student also struggled to answer
questions about decimal place values. The student also had trouble
ordering a set of decimals from greatest to least. The student excelled
in determining the amount represented by a shaded region of a
hundreds block flat.
7 2 - This student had a hard time with the assessment. The student shows
an excellent understanding of counting a set of coins and bills.
However, the student also had difficulty writing the amount as a
decimal. The student also showed an understanding of ordering a set of
decimals. She knew which ones were greater than and less than each
other, but the student needs a little review in what greatest to least
means as opposed to least to greatest. The student also had difficulty
writing the amount as a decimal. The student also had a hard time
determining the value of the shaded region of the hundreds block flat.
8 4 - This student struggled with the assessment but really understood how
to count a set amount of coins and bills. The student shows difficulty in
making a transition of money to decimals. The student needs practice in
ordering decimals and adding/subtracting decimals.
9 6 - This student got 6 out of 11 correct. The student showed an
understanding of the value of each coin and how much money a
specified amount of coins represents. The student also showed
strengths in determining the amount represented by the shaded region
of a hundreds block flat. The student shows weakness in ordering a set
of decimals and naming the place value for a specified place (i.e. the
tenths, hundredths, thousandths).
10 8 - This student performed well on the assessment overall. He specifically
did well in the areas of money with counting money, making change,
and writing the decimal value for a given monetary value. The student
was able to correctly determine the decimal amount for the shaded
region of a hundreds block flat. The student is also able to compare and
order different decimal values. The areas of improvement for the
student would be in labeling decimal values such as tenths, hundredths,
and thousandths. Another area of improvement would be in creating
equivalent values, recognizing adding a 0 at the end of decimal does not
change the value of the number. I.e. 3.2=3.20. The last area of
weakness is in adding and subtracting decimals.
11 7 - This student did well on the assessment. The students strengths are in
counting money, determining the amount represented by the shaded
region of a hundreds block flat, ordering decimals and decimals in
standard form. The student struggled with determining place value of a
given decimal amount, such as determining what places are the tenths,
hundredths, or thousandths place.
12 3 - This student struggled with the assessment overall. The student needs
improvement in counting and determining different monetary values.
The student also struggled with determining a decimal amount given a
shaded region of a hundreds block flat. The student was able to
correctly order a set of decimal values from least to greatest and can
skip count the monetary value of dimes to determine how much money
there is.
13 7 - The student was able to count a set of coins and bills to determine the
amount of money being represented by the coins and bills. The student
also understood the decimal amount represented by a shaded region
on a hundreds block flat. The student also properly ordered a set of
decimals from greatest to least. The students areas of weakness are in
determining place value of a decimal and adding/subtracting decimals.

14 8 - This student did very well on the assessment. The student showed a
deep understanding of money and determining the amount of money
given a picture of a set amount of coins and bills. The student also
understood how to properly determine the amount represented by the
shaded region on a hundreds block flat. Areas of improvement for the
student would be in determining place value of the tenths, hundredths,
and thousandths. The student also needs improvement in
adding/subtracting decimals.
15 7 - This student did well determining an amount of money represented by
coins and bills. The student also did well in determining place value of
decimals. The student needs practice in ordering decimals and
adding/subtracting decimals.
