Distributive Property= The distributive property is multiplying, but you multiply two
numbers. For example 3(12). You need to rst make the multiplication equation into
two numbers. 3(10+2). You multiply 3 times 10 then 3 times 2 and add those two
products up. Which would be 36.
Associative Property of Addition/Multiplication= In this equation both sides are the
same answer. On both sides the parenthesis are on different numbers. For example
3+(4+5)=(3+4)+5 both sides have the same exact answer.
Commutative Property of Addition/Multiplication= In this equation both side equal
the same amount, but the numbers are switched around. For example 45=54.

You can simplify 4(7x-3)+2x by using the distributive property.
First you multiply 4 by 7x which would then be 28x. Then you
multiply 4 by 3. That would be 12. Then you get 28x-12+2x. Then
you need to add 28x by 2x. That would be 30x. The simplied
formula would end up to be 30x-12.

To solve the equation 7x - 10 - 9x= -13, you need to simplify
rst. Yo need to subtract 7x by 9x and that would be -2x. Now
the equation is -2x-10=-13. Now you add ten to the -10. That will
eliminate -10. Then you add that 10 to the -13 and it would be
-3. Now the equation is -2x=-3. Then you divide -2x by -2. That
would eliminate it. Then you divide -2 by -3. That would be 3/2.
Then you make it a mixed number and it would be 1 1/2

you need to nd a common denominator. So a common in this equation will be 6.
So you put parenthesis on both sides of the equation and it would look like this

You cross simplify the rst fraction and it would end up being 5x because 6 only
goes into 6 once and then you multiply 5x by 1. Then you do it to the next
fraction. 3 goes into 6 twice so 2 times x equals 2x. You go to the next fraction
and then you know 2 goes into 6, 3 times so 3 times 1 is 3. After those
fractions. You go onto the other side. That fraction you just need to do how many
times 6 goes into 6, once. Then you multiply 1 by 11 and it equals 11. Now the
written equation looks like 5x + 2x - 3 = 11. So then you add 5x + 2x. That
would be 7x. Then you add 3 on both sides and then the equation would look
like 7x = 14. Then you know 7 goes into 14 twice, so x = 2

You can solve 2 ! x/-5. You just multiply -5 on
both sides because you need to eliminate the -5.
So then it would be -10 and the answer would be
-10!x. If you wanted it to be easier to graph you
ip the inequality signs and the numbers and it
would look like the picture above. The arrow is
pointing toward the positive side because x"-10.

To solve -4x + 4 " -8 you need to subtract 4 on both sides then
the problem would look like this -4x " -12. Then you divide by -4
on both sides. Then the answer would be x ! 3 because you
need to switch the sign because then it would be x " 3. The
graph above shows what it should look like after it is graphed.

The difference between an open circle and a closed square is that
an open circle (when you graph) would be an inequality that has
a < or > than signs. A closed circle (when you graph) is when an
inequality has a ! or " than signs.

be about 13.3 weeks. So the answer would be x < 13.3
