Creating a Standard XStep for a PI Sheet

The following example describes, how you can create a standard XStep for a PI sheet.
It is important to note the following points when navigating in the standard XStep repository:
!ou can execute several functions for each XStep node. !ou access all functions for an XStep node using the
context menu.
!ou can store several different pieces of information and settings for each XStep node. !ou access the dialog
box by doubling"clic# on the particular node.
Procedure
$. %rom the S&P 'asy &ccess (enu, choose Production ) Process "* (aster +ata "* Standard XStep ,epository.
2. Create folder
Select the Standard XSteps folder and choose -reate "* %older.
The system creates the .%older* node. 'nter a description for the folder.
3. Create Standard XStep
Select the .%older* and choose -reate "* Standard XStep.
The system creates the .Standard XStep* node with the ./ersion* and .XStep Tree* subnodes. The
status of the version is currently In Process.
a. 'nter a description for the standard XStep.
b. 'nter a description for the version and a validity period.

4. Create XStep
Select .XStep Tree* and choose -reate "* XStep.
The system creates a .0ew XStep* node.

5. Assign Control Recipe Destination
+ouble"clic# .0ew XStep* and enter the destination type PI sheet or a precise destination that has typePI
sheet in the +estinations dialog box.
. Define XStep Para!eter
+efine, if re1uired, XStep parameters for the contents of all XSteps, which have values that you want to reuse.
+ouble"clic# .0ew XStep* and create the parameters and their valuations in the Parameters and
/aluations dialog box.

". Assign Scope of #eneration
&ssign a scope of generation to the XStep if re1uired. +ouble"clic# .0ew XStep* and enter a scope of
generation in the scope of generation dialog box.

$. Create Process Instructions
Select .0ew XStep* and choose -reate "* Process Instruction.
The system creates a .0ew Process Instruction* node. 'nter a description for the process instruction.

Select .0ew Process Instruction* and choose -reate "* 4utput "* 5ong Text.
The system creates the .3roup* node with the sub node .5ong Text*.
+ouble"clic# .5ong Text* and enter a description and a long text.
$6. Save
**. +)ecute Inspection
Select an XStep node in the standard XStep and choose XSteps "* -hec# from the menu bar.
-orrect any errors that may occur.
*2. +)ecute Si!ulation
Select an XStep node in the standard XStep and choose XSteps "* Simulate from the menu bar.
The XStep is simulated on the right of the screen. & preview of your PI sheet is displayed.
*3. Release Status of the ,ersion
To release your standard XStep for production, you must change the status of the version from In
Process to,eleased. Select ./ersion* and choose -hange Status "* ,elease.
