Mallen, Adelaide (Astronomical Society of South Australia) email: [email protected] updated: September 2007 To find the calendar for a particular year: - Find the first 2 digits of the year (e.g. the "19" in 1997) at the left of the INDEX - Follow that row across to the year letter (A to G) under the last 2 digits of the year (e.g. the "97" in 1997) - This letter (e.g. "D" for 1997) shows the days of the week in the CALENDAR for that year. Leap years have 2 letters. Use the first letter for J anuary and February, and the second for March to December 15 19 23 27 31 35 16 20 24 28 32 36 17 21 25 29 33 37 18 22 26 30 34 38 INDEX CALENDAR Sun Mon Tue Wed Thu Fr i Sat Mon Tue Wed Thu Fr i Sat Sun Tue Wed Thu Fr i Sat Sun Mon Wed Thu Fr i Sat Sun Mon Tue Thu Fr i Sat Sun Mon Tue Wed Fr i Sat Sun Mon Tue Wed Thu Sat Sun Mon Tue Wed Thu Fr i A B C D E F G January 1 8 15 22 29 2 9 16 23 30 3 10 17 24 31 4 11 18 25 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 February 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 1 8 15 22 29 2 9 16 23 3 10 17 24 4 11 18 25 March 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 1 8 15 22 29 2 9 16 23 30 3 10 17 24 31 4 11 18 25 April 30 2 9 16 23 3 10 17 24 4 11 18 25 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 1 8 15 22 29 May 7 14 21 28 1 8 15 22 29 2 9 16 23 30 3 10 17 24 31 4 11 18 25 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 June 4 11 18 25 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 1 8 15 22 29 2 9 16 23 30 3 10 17 24 Sun Mon Tue Wed Thu Fr i Sat Mon Tue Wed Thu Fr i Sat Sun Tue Wed Thu Fr i Sat Sun Mon Wed Thu Fr i Sat Sun Mon Tue Thu Fr i Sat Sun Mon Tue Wed Fr i Sat Sun Mon Tue Wed Thu Sat Sun Mon Tue Wed Thu Fr i A B C D E F G Jul y 30 2 9 16 23 31 3 10 17 24 4 11 18 25 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 1 8 15 22 29 August 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 1 8 15 22 29 2 9 16 23 30 3 10 17 24 31 4 11 18 25 5 12 19 26 September 3 10 17 24 4 11 18 25 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 1 8 15 22 29 2 9 16 23 30 October 1 8 15 22 29 2 9 16 23 30 3 10 17 24 31 4 11 18 25 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 November 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 1 8 15 22 29 2 9 16 23 30 3 10 17 24 4 11 18 25 December 31 3 10 17 24 4 11 18 25 5 12 19 26 6 13 20 27 7 14 21 28 1 8 15 22 29 2 9 16 23 30 Examples: The calendar for 1969 is found by obtaining the letter Dfrom the INDEX, then using the days of the week in column D of the CALENDAR.
