The main body of this unique extensometer remains stationary during testing, held in po- sition by the adjustable magnetic base includ- ed. Only the very light, small travelling heads move as the sample elongates during a test. These attach to the sample with small spring clips. Each head pulls a cord out from the ex- tensometer as the head moves. These mod- els use high precision, low friction potenti- ometers, and, as a result, have a wide range of factory selectable outputs. The extensom- eter is driven by an excitation voltage and has output proportional to the input. The elongation is recorded by an opto-incremen- tal measuring system. Fully Automatic Axial Extensometer Series MFX For use in connection with fully automatic testing machines. Because of its rugged construction and the high accuracy the Series MFX nearly meets all applications in measurement of linear strain. The MFX is suitable for almost all samples of a gauge length (Lo) from 10 mm.
