Sample Letter of Complaint

This letter summarizes a student's complaint about receiving an unexpected grade of 5.0 in a subject called Survey 1, taught by Engr. Andrew Reyes. The student attended all classes and fulfilled all requirements, but the instructor was often absent or unprepared for class due to technical issues. Fellow classmates also complained about the instructor passing students who rarely attended. The student and classmates had previously written a letter of complaint to the department, but no action was taken. The student's parents are disappointed and the student is requesting the Vice President's assistance in resolving the issue.

To whom it may concern:

Shalom!
This is Honilyn A. Leorag (12104848) writing to inform you of my uncertainty of my grades imprinted on
subject enrolled, Survey 1, under Engr. Andrew Reyes from the department of Civil Engineering.
I dont see a reason of me having 5.0 on this subject considering I always attended the class on time, fulfilled
the necessary requirements, and never fail to take any exams or quizzes he required us to take.
There is also some anomaly I have seen through his behavior. He was never early and quite often absent
during this subject (four meetings attended out of fifteen supposed meetings in a semester including the
midterm and final exams). I have also observed and was confirmed by my fellow classmates that this
instructor was never ready in our lecture. He took up most of his time fixing his broken projector or else his
laptop. In the end, no discussion is made. These made me feel quite insulted for I have paid very well for this
and have put serious efforts in excelling this subject.
During the release of grades, many of my fellow classmates [including myself] wrote a letter of complaint
addressing this problem to the department but to no avail. We have included in that letter that he passed
some students who hardly attend his class and that somehow made us think he is not handling his records
responsibly.
My parents are very much disappointed on this matter and will very much appreciate if you actively cooperate
in resolving this case.
I hope this problem will soon be resolved through our joined forces. Thank you and God speed.

Sincerely,

HONILYN A.LEORAG BS ARCH
