Running Head: PROGRAM REFLECTION

1) The author believes that both play and learning are important elements in early childhood education and that classrooms should provide a balanced approach with both emphasized equally. 2) To create this balanced environment, the classroom should be enriched with many play and learning experiences using developmentally appropriate practices. This allows children to explore, discover, and create while also assessing their growth. 3) While play will remain important, the author acknowledges society's higher expectations and the need for assessment. Therefore, educators must find creative ways to teach and implement both play and learning through a developmentally appropriate curriculum and enriched environment.
