Matlab Exercise Filter Design (Due 6/25)

1. Design a digital Butterworth lowpass filter operating at a sampling rate of 100 KHz
with a 0.4-dB cutoff frequency at 10 Hz and a minimum stop!and attenuation of "0
dB at #0 Hz using the !ilinear transformation method. $ou should first determine
the order of the analog filter prototype and design the analog prototype filter using
buttap function. %fterward& transform the analog filter transfer function to the
desired digital transfer function using the bilinear function. 'lot the gain and
phase responses. (how all steps used in the design.
). *+, design
-a. /sing the window method& design a linear-phase *+, low pass filter with the
following specifications0 pass!and edge at 4 rad1sec& stop!and edge at 2 rad1sec&
ma3imum pass!and attenuation of 0.) dB& minimum stop!and attenuation of 4)
dB& and a sampling frequency of 14 rad1sec. /se each of the following windows
for the design0 Hamming& Hann& and Blacman. (how the impulse response
coefficients& and plot the gain response of the designed filters for each case.
5omment on your results. Do not use the fir1 function.
-!. repeat -a. with the Kaiser window method. Do not use fir1 function.
-c. repeat -a. with the 'ars-6c5lellan method.
5ompare the results of -a.& -!. and -c..
