Course Description
The focus of Language Arts this year is to sharpen the sills that seventh gra!ers will nee!
to !emonstrate at an increase! rate as they inch closer to high school"level coursewor. #ur
emphasis will be on buil!ing vocabulary$ evi!ence"base! writing$ an! close analysis of
!i%erent forms of te&t 'inclu!ing novels$ short stories$ current events$ an! other various
forms of non"(ction).
Stu!ents will be hel! to the highest of e&pectations. To ensure success$ stu!ents shoul! eep
up with their planner$ regularly chec the class website$ come to class prepare! to wor$ an!
communicate with me right away if they have any issues that are impacting their ability to
eep up with the pace of the class. * as that parents please ensure that their stu!ent has
spoen to me$ !irectly$ about an issue before calling or emailing$ when possible.

When a stu!ent misses class$ it is his or her responsibility to visit the class website for

Aca!emic Dishonesty
Cheating will not be tolerate!. *n such instances$ all parties nowingly involve! will be
