Axillary

This document describes the six groups of lymph nodes located in the axilla and their associated drainage patterns. The anterior group drains parallel to the lateral thoracic vein. The posterior group drains parallel to the subscapular vein. The lateral group drains parallel to the medial side of the axillary vein. The central group is located at the outer border of the first rib. The apical group is at the apex of the axilla. Lymph then drains into the subclavian lymph trunk.
