Crack Width Calculation For Rectangular RC Beam

A reinforced concrete beam with a serviceability bending moment of 36 kNm is designed. The beam has overall depth of 400 mm, width of 200 mm, and is reinforced with 3 bottom bars and 2 top bars of 12 mm diameter each. Stirrups of 8 mm diameter are provided. The concrete grade is M25 and steel grade is Fe 415. Crack width calculation shows the design crack width of 0.164 mm is within the permissible limit.
