2014 05 04 Charles Vehicle Nanjemoy

A vehicle fire was reported on May 4, 2014 at Adams Willett Rd & Hancock Run Rd in Nanjemoy, Charles County. The 2011 Volkswagen Jetta owned by Edward Sigmon was discovered on fire by a passerby and the Nanjemoy VFD responded and extinguished the fire in 5 minutes. There were no injuries reported. The State Fire Marshal investigated and determined the preliminary cause to be incendiary, or intentionally set.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: A fire was discovered by a passerby on Adams Willett Road involving
a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta. The Nanjemoy VFD responded and quickly extinguished the fire which
began to involve the brush in the woods. There were no injuries and the vehicle was determined to
be unoccupied.
