Language Arts: Be ready to learn about common
and proper nouns! We will discuss appropriate
capitalization, along with the correct use of common and proper nouns. Students will assess their learning with a Common and Proper Nouns Quiz on Friday.
Reading: This week we will read The Power of W.O.W. and practice identifying different forms of text (i.e. poems, fiction, nonfiction, etc.) We will continue our learning on the sequence of events, and the problem and solution in a story.
Social Studies: We will be wrapping up our Native Indians unit this week and begin our unit on various folklore customs and traditions.
Math: We will complete our Multiples and Factors unit and begin Multi-digit Multiplication. Please practice multiplication facts at home with your child, and encourage him/her to use class notes to help with homework problems!
Science: Following the cells test on Thursday, your child will begin to learn about ecosystems & food webs. We are looking forward to seeing your cell projects, fourth graders!
Spell ing: This weeks spelling lesson focuses on prefixes (re-, un-, and dis-). Your child will complete a classroom activity with the spelling words, and is expected to complete one activity at home (due Thursday). Today is the first Monday that your child will bring home his/her Homework Hawk Folder. In this folder, you will find:
1) Your childs weekly behavior sheet 2) Weekly classwork, homework, quizzes, etc.
