Language Arts: Be ready to learn about common

and proper nouns! We will discuss appropriate

capitalization, along with the correct use of common
and proper nouns. Students will assess their learning
with a Common and Proper Nouns Quiz on Friday.

Reading: This week we will read The Power of
W.O.W. and practice identifying different forms of
text (i.e. poems, fiction, nonfiction, etc.) We will
continue our learning on the sequence of events, and
the problem and solution in a story.

Social Studies: We will be wrapping up our Native
Indians unit this week and begin our unit on various
folklore customs and traditions.

Math: We will complete our Multiples and Factors
unit and begin Multi-digit Multiplication. Please
practice multiplication facts at home with your
child, and encourage him/her to use class notes to
help with homework problems!

Science: Following the cells test on Thursday, your
child will begin to learn about ecosystems & food
webs. We are looking forward to seeing your cell
projects, fourth graders!

Spell ing: This weeks spelling lesson focuses on
prefixes (re-, un-, and dis-). Your child will complete
a classroom activity with the spelling words, and is
expected to complete one activity at home (due
Thursday).
Today is the first Monday that your child will
bring home his/her Homework Hawk Folder. In
this folder, you will find:
