CLASSROOM RULES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
FOR VIDEO COMMUNICATIONS
These rules are implemented to create a classroom in which students feel comfortable, non-threatened, and eager to contribute. Of course, when rules are broken, they will be followed by consistent, non-judgmental and fair consequences.
IN THIS CLASSROOM, YOU ARE EXPECTED TO:
Respect everyones individuality, person and personal belongings. Your language should follow socially acceptable standards, and criticism should be constructive. Be attentive to the person speaking. Everyone deserves the opportunity to express ideas and opinions and ask questions without interruption or disrespect. Use class time wisely. Stay focused on your Video Comm assignments. Respect school property and report damages immediately. It is important that the computers and equipment are available and fully functional for all students. NEVER delete anybody elses files or change settings without the teachers permission. Follow school policies. If you fail to follow school rules, you will suffer the consequences of that infraction.
CONSEQUENCES:
Every day is a new day. Unless a negative behavior is repeated daily, we will begin with a clean slate.
First offence Verbal warning Second offence Final warning and counseling with teacher Third offence Report to classroom for hour detention before or after school or during lunch. This may include cleaning the room. Fourth offence Your parents will be notified and you will stay 45 minutes for detention. Fifth offence Involve parents in after school meeting to discuss a way to fix the problem. This will include the office is necessary.
SEVERE PENALTY CLAUSE: The teacher has the right, for any major infraction of classroom policy to give you an immediate referral to the office, detention after school, and/or to contact your parents.
Please note that consequences are cumulative. If in one day, you are up to your fifth offense, you will receive the consequences for all 5 offenses, not just the last one.
Thank you in advance for following these rules and being responsible. Mr. Smith
