aving spent the past few months touring
the western half of the United States to
support their stellar four-song The Cali-
fornia EP (Wild Bunch Records), Jona-
than Clay and Zach Chance, the duo
that make up Jamestown Revival, are poised
for big things.
On January 28, the group will release Utah,
its first full-length album.
Childhood friends who grew up in the tiny
town of Magnolia, Texas, Clay and Chance
recently set up shop in the Golden State, where
they continued to hone their Everly Brothers
inspired harmonies in a distinctly urban setting.
We wrote most of the songs in Los Angeles in a
garage that we converted into a writing space,
Clay says. That said, the very first song we
wrote as Jamestown Revival was literally
written on a back porch in the middle of the
woods.
While Jamestown Revival may now be
based in LA, they are keenly aware how it
differs from Texas. One is made of wine, the
other of whiskey, Chance says.
Both places are dear to our hearts, Clay
adds, but only one is truly home.
