Main Application
The well known application of Disease
Detection using Bio-Robotics as of today
is the DDX which focuses on determining
if a person has a possibility of having a
Motor Neuron Disease.
Need for DDX
To measure the neuro-psychomotor
conditions of an individual to detect his/her
state of health, it is necessary to obtain set
of parameters such as reaction time,
speed, strength and tremor.
Need for DDX
The set of parameters obtained is useful
not only to diagnose neuro-motor
pathologies (e.g. Parkinson disease), but
also assess general everyday health or to
monitor sport performance.
Need for DDX
Autonomous testing is important, this is to
eliminate factors that may effect the result
for the testing such as anxiety. Since
autonomous testing will allow the patient
to have a better peace of mind while
testing is being done.
Motor Neuron Disease
MNDs are a group of progressive
neurological disorders that destroy motor
neurons, the cell that controls essential
voluntary muscle activity such as
speaking, walking, breathing, and
swallowing.
