This lesson plan is for a 9th standard English class on the unit "Breaking Barriers" and the subunit "Women". The plan involves warming up students with a discussion of current women empowerment issues, showing movie clips portraying women's struggles, introducing the poet Louise Bogan and reciting her poem "Women". The teacher then leads an analysis of the poem's themes and language in a part-by-part discussion with students. Comprehension questions are asked to check understanding before splitting students into groups to appreciate and analyze the poem, with group leaders presenting their analyses to the class.
