1.WARMING UP ACTIVITY
An interactive talk on current affairs related to
the topic to be taught women empowerment citing
examples of famous ladies Malala yusuf Sai,Medha
Padkar , Sonia Gandhi( pictures of above mentioned
ladies is shown as slide show )
2.CONTEXTUAL LINK
A link to the poem Women is created by
showing some clippings from the movies like
Agnisakshi acted by actress Shobana ,Verudhe Alla
Oru Bharya acted by actress Gopika which potray that
the life of a women is deprived of freedom and filled with
agony .women finds out how hard it is to break the
barriers of life.
3.INITIATING THE TOPIC
Introduction to the author of the poem ,Louise
Bogan (by showing his picture on slide).Then saying the
theme of the poem Women the poem draws our
attention towards how lead a life of confinement in
our society
4.RECITATION OF THE POEM
Teacher recite the poem with correct stress
,rhythm, intonation and ask some students to recite the
poem aloud for clearing the pronounciation and
increasing reading skill.
5.DISECTING THE POEM
Part by part analysis of the ornaments used in
the poem by an interactive discussion between teacher
and students.

6 .CLEARING DOUBTS
Teacher clears the doubts of the students and
gives the meaning of difficult words and explain the
theme of the poem for whole class more clarification .
7.COMPREHENSION ANALYSIS
Teacher asks some questions to the students to
check whether they understood the poem.
i.The word provident means careful in planning.How is
it contrasted with wilderness?
ii.Are women really contented ? What does the poem
say about this ?
iii. Women miss many things in life.What are some of
the things the poem mentions ?
8. PRACTICE SESSION
Teacher asks the students to be in group and
write an appreciation on the poem and ask the group
leader to present it in class
9.CORRECTION
Teacher edits the students presentation .
10.EXTRA CREDIT WORK
Teacher gives a home assignment to write a poem
on womens strength and weakness.
