Install BCI Link On VIDAS PC

1. Install the BCI Link software and double-click the InstallBCILink.bat file located in the appropriate folder. 2. Open the BCI Link application, select "Software Administration" and configure the dispatching mode and RS232 connection. 3. Configure the connection name, port, baud rate, and activate the link. Then save the configuration. 4. Check that the connection between the BCI link and LIS is visible under "Connection Supervision".

2. DoubleclickthebatchfileInstallBCILink.bat,
a. FortheRP5800(orhavingWindows7)thefileislocatedinthefolderD:\bmx\BCILink

b. Fortheothercomputers(orhavingWindowsXP)thefileislocatedunderthefolder
D:\bmx\bciinstall3.1.0.0

3. DoubleclickintheBCILinkicon,inthedesktop,tostarttheBCIlinkapplication.
4. Loginasdb2bmx
5. Inthewindow,selecttheoptionsoftwareAdministration togetthetabsbelow.

6. IntheGeneralConfiguration,selectthedispatchingmodeLegacyBCIRS232dispatching,and
savebyclickingtheicon
7. ThengotothetabRS232configuration,iftheconnectiontobesetuptoyourLISorLIMS,is
serial.
8. SelectAdd.

9. Thewindowbelowdisplays.ConfigurethelinkaccordingtoyourpreviousconfigurationofBCI
RS232orwiththesamesettingsastheLISorLIMSalreadyexisting.
Bydefault:
Choseanametothisconnection(thisnamemustbethesameasthenameinserted
intheVIDASApplication)
Activatethelink,byenablingtheoptionisActive
SetthecomporttoCOM3.
BaudRateto9600.
Clickok

10. Aftersettingtheconnection,selectthelinkandsavethisconfiguration ,confirm.

11. Returntotheconnectionsupervision andcheckthattheconnectionbetweentheBCI


linkandtheLISisvisible.
12. Clickthegreenarrows (betweentheLISBCIlinkandBCIlinkVIDAS)tostartthe
communication.

13. GototheVIDASapplicationorstartit.Selectnavigationtreeinthemainmenuandthenthe
optionConfiguration,youwillhaveaccesstothemenubelow.

14. SelectoneoflinkRS232andtheninsertthenameyouhavechoseninthepreviouspoint9(write
exactlythesamename),andinaccordancewiththeLISselectfieldsthatarepossibleto
configuretouploadanddownloadandattheendEnabletheconnection.
15. IfyoureturntotheBCILinkwindowyoushouldseethelinkbetweentheBCILinkandtheVIDAS
PC,likethepicturebelow.

16. ThesetupandconfigurationonBCILinkandVIDASPCisfinished.
