Modulus of Subgrade Reaction

This document provides calculations to determine the modulus of subgrade reaction (k) for two foundation sizes. It calculates k as 375 times a dimensionless factor based on foundation width and depth, yielding values of 101,400 kN/m3 for a 13.3m by 7.5m foundation and 117,600 kN/m3 for a 7.5m by 2.5m foundation.

Calculation of Modulus of subgrade reaction

For dimensions of 13.3 m x 7.5 m

k = 375 ((7.5+0.3)/(2*7.5))^2
= 101.4 MN/m3 = 101400 kN/m3
For dimensions of 7.5 m x 2.5 m
k = 375 ((2.5+0.3)/(2*2.5))^2
= 117.6 MN/m3 = 117600 kN/m3
