Hi class! Im your Webmaster now,
so Ill be working on getting us
organized and looking good on the
web. I earned my BS in Mechanical
Engineering at the University of
Colorado, Boulder, after which my
wife and I joined the Peace Corps. If
you have any ideas about how to
improve our presence online, or if
you feel like playing a round of
ping-pong, get in touch with me!
Hi, I moved here from Sugarland,
TX when I was working as a
formulation chemist for an oil & gas
catalyst company. I moved here
with my wife, Brooke, who also
happens to be due with our first
child (girl) in about 5 weeks. I went
to Texas A&M University for
undergrad (please dont judge after
the last 3 weeks of football). I was
an avid Crossfit & competed in the
2013 Crossfit Games.

Hi guys,
This sign up sheet will be my
way of updating you guys on
upcoming outreach events. On
this sheet I will try to put down a
reminder of any tests or quizzes
on days of events to help you plan
your schedule accordingly.
Please take into consideration
travel time when signing up.
Sign up is FIRST COME FIRST
SERVE. There is a waiting list that
you can put your names on as
well.
Additional things to note: For
some events, there will be shifts
available so that one person won't
have to be committed to spend
the entire day at the outreach.
The goal of these outreach
events is to provide free basic
dental services to patients of low
socioeconomic status or those
who have difficulty accessing
dental care. As we have learned
in class, it is best to discover
caries early as incipient caries
are reversible with proper
2
intervention. A quick and
efficient way to discover these
caries is through screening. As
D1s, we do not have the clinical
skills required to screen patients.
However, we will be able to assist
D3s and D4s in these oral
screening by documenting caries
and missing teeth. This will be a
good chance to practice dental
nomenclature as well as having a
glimpse of what we can do once
we are D3s and D4s.
Furthermore, other
responsibilities can include
helping patients fill out their
medical history forms or other
services as required (eg. acting
as a translator for patients with a
language barrier). Hope you
guys take advantage of these
outreach opportunities!
Troubleshooting: If you get a
browser error that asks you to
press shift + refresh, either clear
your browser history or use
incognito mode.

Last Thursday, we had a guest
lecturer in H&N Anatomy.
PLEASE make sure to attend
these lectures as the topics are
chosen so that they relate
directly to dental practice. Dr.
Lewis will be our D2 professor so
its probably worth making a
good impression & showing him
our respect. The guest lectures
are scheduled 9-9:50am.
