Re: Blue Rose Water

A meeting was held to discuss findings from a report that found coliform bacteria and heavy metals in Blue Rose water. There was a lack of empirical data to support claims against Blue Rose and no standardized testing procedures. Further actions were identified to improve Blue Rose's supply chain process, including labeling batches, accompanying tests, and developing sanitization standards. It was concluded that while lapses existed, the evidence was not substantial enough to warrant extreme action, and consumption of Blue Rose water could continue while improvements are made.

RE: BLUE ROSE WATER

A meeting was held on the 26

th
of May 2014 between Unicem and the management team of Anifah
Ent. Ltd (Blue Rose water)
SCOPE
1. Understand how Coliform and the presence of heavy metals like Nickel could be
found in the drinking water(as per the report received)
2. If proved beyond reasonable doubt, stop the use of this brand of water
FINDINGS
1. Lack of substantial empirical data to support our claims, Blue Rose water company
produced their test results running several years
2. No formalized procedure (SOP)for the entire testing process, therefore process lacks
the rigor required to challenge an outcome
3. Sample of contaminated water not retained for further confirmatory tests
FURTHER ACTIONS
1. Blue Rose water company to check their entire supply chain process to ensure that
there can be no exchange of water while in transit
2. All water bottles to be labelled by batch number for easy follow up in case of an
issue
3. Test certificates to accompany every batch of water received
4. SOP for receiving and testing of water to be developed
5. SOP for sanitizing water dispenser equipment to be developed
6. Mapping of hygienic locations for water dispensers to be undertaken

CONCLUSION
The above information points to the fact that there were lapses in the entire process and therefore
the evidence is not substantial enough to warrant extreme action. However, this issue will remain a
top agenda in our care of people and appropriate steps to ensure that the entire supply chain process
including packing, transportation, receiving, analysing, storage and mapping of suitable locations for
keeping the water dispensers will undergo periodic audits to ensure consistency.
On these grounds, please be encouraged to continue the consumption of Blue Rose dispenser water
as management continue to ensure that health remains a top priority by ensuring on-going
improvement in the entire process of providing clean and safe water for drinking.
