Independence Holiday Tournament

This document provides information about an upcoming high school wrestling tournament hosted by Independence High School. Independence Holiday Tournament

Format
We are planning on running a pool tournament this year again, 4 pools of 4. With the winners of each pool wrestling
for 1st -4th , 2nd in each pool wrestling for 5th – 8th and so on through 13th -16th . This guarantee each wrestler five
matches. This tournament will be run by Fiscus Mat Control.
WE WILL ALSO BE HAVING A GIRL’S DIVISION
Times and Dates
Entries (1 varsity and 1 or 2 alternates) in by Wednesday December 30st @ 10:00p.m.
Due to the holidays, seeding will take place solely by entries sent in with criteria.
Weigh ins Saturday Jan 2nd @ 7:00 a.m.
Wrestling Start time 9:00
Finals- Approximate 5:00

Seeding Criteria
1. Returning state medal winner
2. Head to head
3. State Qualifier
4. Common Opponent
5. % of overall record
6. Committee vote
*If unable to have a legitimate seeding meeting, we will use a point system based on the above
criteria in order to group the pools.

Awards
Individual medals for 1-4-----Team trophy for 1-2-----------MOW wrestler voted on by coaches

FEES
Each team is responsible for a tournament entry fee of $125.00
This needs to be paid be by the morning of Jan 2nd , can be mailed as early as needed.
