What Is Transportation: o o o o o

Transportation involves moving people, animals, or materials from one location to another. It requires five key elements: infrastructure or terminals, a vehicle, energy or fuel, an operator, and support services. Transportation can be private, where an individual controls the route and schedule, or public, which follows set routes and schedules but allows sharing costs between users. Different modes of transportation include road, rail, water, air, cable or pipeline, vertical lifts, and space travel beyond Earth's atmosphere. The greater the needs and resource use of an economy, the greater the need for transportation systems to transfer people and goods.

WHAT IS TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is the transfer of an item from one place to another (any types of matter or energy as people,
animals or fluids). Transportation by itself has no purpose, but is a necessary means to meet higher goals.

5 elements are needed for transportation to occur:

An infrastructure or accommodation, including terminals or ports.

A vehicle (body or technology)

Energy (fuel or pulse)

An Operator

Support Services which allow that the transportation occurs safely.

An ideal scenario for transport is that users make the most of the available infrastructure, energy and vehicles, and
that the infrastructure is not exceeded by demand.

For transportation we can use our own transport or public transport depending on the distance, frequency and
availability of our time, resources and need to do so comfortably.

Private transport is the one in which we are the operators, we can choose a route, the departure time, and interfere
with the speed of travel. The user is responsible for the costs of the vehicle (taxi is classified as private transport
although it is publicly available)

Public transport is shared with other people and are available for people in general. You pay a fee. They have a
route, stops, a set schedule and operating speed.

The mode of transport is a solution to use a specific type of transport, which are classified as follows:

By Road: walking, running, animals, bicycles, cars, trucks and other vehicles without rails.

By rail: vehicles moving inland.

By water: swimming, rowing, skiis, submarines, cars sliding on and within fluids like water.

By air: gliders, aircraft, helicopters.

Cables or pipelines: as power systems, pipelines to transport oil, channels.

Vertical lifts and hoists

For the space outside the Earths atmosphere: spaceships and rockets.

The greater the needs or desires of the people and the use of resources (such as land) in an economy, the greater its
need for transportation.
