Oscilloscopes

An oscilloscope is a graph-displaying device used to measure electrical signals over time. It displays signals on X (time) and Y (voltage) axes, and can provide information on time, voltage, frequency, rise/fall times, and other characteristics. Oscilloscopes have vertical, horizontal, and trigger sections to control the display. They can be analog, displaying signals in real-time, or digital, capturing and storing signals for later review. Probes are used to connect oscilloscopes to circuits, and can be passive or active, with different characteristics for measuring voltage signals.
