For each assignment, students must either write a detailed paper or give a 10-minute speech describing what they learned at a cultural event, how it relates to class topics, and if they would recommend the event. Suggested local cultural events include the Potter Park Zoo, Broad Art Museum, Michigan Historical Museum, Winter Glow festival, and Meridian Historical Village.
