Word Processors: I use some forms of word processors as an administrative tool in
my classroom. My students are in Pre-K, so typing skills/computer skills are still in the
process of being developed. I use tools like Newsletters, Communication Reports,
Narrative Summaries (like our progress reports), Calendars (for their behavior), Lesson
Plans, and Reminders in my classroom.
Activity: The teacher can use a Word Processor as a learning tool in the classroom. The
teacher can create a learning sheet with a variety of letters on it, with a few blanks. The
students would then use writing tools and their knowledge of letters to fill in the blanks.
Differentiated Instruction (DI): Some students may need a copy of the alphabet to see
what comes next.
Standard:
CLL7: The child will demonstrate increasing knowledge of the alphabet.
CLL7.4a: With prompting and support, recognizes and names some
Upper/lowercase letters of the alphabet.
CLL9: The child will use writing for a variety of purposes.
CLL9.4b: Uses writing tools.

problems using quantity and number.
CD-MA2.4d: Describes data from classroom graphs using numerical math
language.
The database below is an example of a class graph that my class created after our field
trip to the local firehouse.
