MORVARID RAUFY
This magazine has used two colours which are, yellow and white.
This helps to focus on the front and what has been written so
the audience don't get distracted. The yellow writing is for the main
information as it is in larger front and yellow is more eye catching
than white.
In the image Nicki Minaj, is standing in a certain position that would
attract men, this also links in with the facial expressions and the way
she is dressed. The zip is
half way down showing the audience some skin and cleavage, and
this is to be put there to catch the eyes of men. This is anexample of
the Male Gaze theory
by Laura Mulvey as shes put
herself to look a certain way so that men can be attracted to her.
On the front cover we see the image of Drake, he is the main focus and we
know this because the cover is so simply and he is the only thing standing
out to us. The use of gold props helps to signify he is a rapper, also
representing his wealth and fame but this is shown to be conventional.
Drake is not giving direct eye contact to the audience, representing that he
may be ashamed of the things he has done, this also reflects upon the album
which may give the audience the idea that this album may not be a normal
up beat fun album. This could link in well with the songs and the audience
may not be getting the normal expected stereotype album from drake
therefore they might think its not be as good. Take Care which again reflects
on the album and that it will be a deep and meaningful album. The name of
the album which does not stand out as much because Drake wants to bring
the audience more into the background of the digital
The layout of this Digi pack goes with the conventions of the Digi
pack. The cover has an image of the artist Katy Perry and her name.
Katy's image has been put directly in the middle of the front cover
and this has been to bring all attention on her. This is in relation with
the theory of Male Gaze by Laura Mulvey, as the way she is dressed
and positioned would make men attracted. In the bottom right corner
there is an advisory logo directing the viewers there is explicit content
on some of the songs.
The layout links in well with the artist and her music as it looks
feminine and joyful, which connects in with the whole
candy theme. This is portrayed on her CDs as one of
them is a doughnut with sprinkles on it and the other is a red and
white candy, which helps to link the whole package.
Looking back at the pervious album and this, one we can see the resemblance and similarities,
such as she has again stuck with the black and white look. This shows that it is part of her image
and not just a theme for one album. Once again Emili has just change the positioning of her name
and the title of the album and has a different picture of herself.
