This document provides guidelines for a student presentation on photosynthesis. Students will work in groups to research a plant species, learn about its habitat, role in its ecosystem, and how it performs photosynthesis. The required 10-12 slide presentation must describe the plant, its habitat, importance to its ecosystem through the carbon cycle, structures involved in photosynthesis, the two reactions of photosynthesis, and concluding thoughts on the importance of photosynthesis. Groups will be graded on content, visual aids, time limits, and audience respect.

Photosynthesis Presentation Guidelines
Overview: You will be working in groups of 3 4 to conduct research on a land or marine plant of your choice. If you need help with suggestions of species of plants, please see me! Once your group has selected your plant and I have approved it, use the Internet to learn more about your species of plant. You will need to gather enough research to explain its habitat, any predators, and significance of your plant to its ecosystem. Most importantly, in this presentation you will need to describe the general process of photosynthesis and explain how your plant of choice photosynthesizes. Your presentation should be about 10-12 slides and should be at least ten minutes. Do not exceed fifteen minutes. Please refer to the rubric to see how your presentations will be graded. Group members are expected to contribute equally in preparing for the presentation, as every group member will receive the same grade. Remember, we must be a respectful audience! With that said, you will be also be graded on how well you listen to each others presentations. Below are the required slides for your presentation and content expected for each slide. Content
Introduction (1 2 slides)
Explain the name of your plant and why your
group selected this plant. Be sure to include a visual aid (i.e. picture or video) of your plant. Please share anything you found unique or interesting about your plant. Explain where your plant lives (i.e. is it a land or ocean plant?) Include at least one visual aid this can be a figure, map, graph, etc. Describe why your plant is important to its ecosystem. (i.e. is your plant a food source for other organisms?). Be sure to mention the cycle of Carbon between organisms in the habitat. Does your plant have any human impact? Provide at least one visual aid for this section. Explain where photosynthesis occurs in your plant and describe any special structures of your plants. (i.e. does your plant have leaves, stems, flowers, etc.) Explain where your plant gets the water it needs for photosynthesis. For example, does it receive water from soil or the ocean? Describe how photosynthesis converts light energy into chemical energy. You must mention the two reactions of photosynthesis. Mention the reactants and products for each reaction. Conclude with why your group thinks photosynthesis is an important biological process needed for life. Include any other
